Description
Product Information: HSV Elisa Kit
Overview: The HSV Elisa Kit is a highly sensitive and specific diagnostic tool used to detect the presence of herpes simplex virus (HSV) antibodies in human serum or plasma. This enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit is designed to aid in the diagnosis and differentiation of HSV-1 and HSV-2 infections, providing clinicians with accurate results for effective patient management.
Key Features:
- High Sensitivity & Specificity: Offers reliable detection of both HSV-1 and HSV-2 antibodies, ensuring accurate diagnosis and differentiation.
- Fast Results: Provides quick turnaround times for laboratory testing, facilitating timely treatment decisions.
- Easy to Use: Simple and efficient procedure with easy-to-read results, suitable for routine laboratory use.
- Quantitative Results: Generates quantitative results, allowing for a clear assessment of antibody levels in the patient’s sample.
- Reproducibility: Ensures consistent performance across multiple tests, maintaining the integrity of results over time.
- Versatile Application: Ideal for use in clinical settings, research, and epidemiological studies to track HSV infections.
Components Included:
- Pre-coated ELISA microplate
- Conjugate solution (HRP-labeled antibodies)
- Positive and negative controls
- Substrate solution
- Wash buffer
- Stop solution
- Sample diluent
Principle of the Test: The HSV Elisa Kit works based on the principle of indirect ELISA. During the assay, patient samples are added to wells coated with HSV antigens. If the antibodies specific to HSV are present in the sample, they will bind to the antigens. After washing to remove unbound components, an enzyme-labeled secondary antibody is added. A substrate solution is introduced, resulting in a color change that is measured spectrophotometrically. The intensity of the color is directly proportional to the concentration of HSV antibodies in the sample.
Clinical Applications:
- Detection of past or current HSV infection
- Serological screening for HSV antibodies
- Differentiation between HSV-1 and HSV-2 infection
- Monitoring the immune status of individuals with a history of HSV exposure
Storage and Handling:
- Store at 2-8°C in a dry, cool place.
- Do not freeze.
- Use the kit before the expiration date on the packaging.
- Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for sample collection and handling.
Limitations:
- Not for use in direct detection of HSV in clinical samples such as swabs or lesions.
- False positives or negatives may occur if samples are not properly handled or if there are interfering substances in the sample.
Intended Use: For in vitro diagnostic use only. Not for self-testing.
